The Missouri Civil War Museum, located at the Jefferson Barracks Historic Site, opened in 2013 in the restored Jefferson Barracks Post Exchange and Gymnasium Building. The building was built in 1905 for use by the commissioned officers stationed at the base as an athletic and activity center. The 22,000 square-foot museum is the fourth largest Civil War museum in the United States and serves as a museum, library, and educational center.

The Missouri Civil War Museum is open Daily, 9am-4pm; closed New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. An admission fee is charged. See website for more information.
